Nimelt tundsin huvi, et kuidas nad on saavutanud sellise lennuturvalisuse. Mõni üsna suur lennuklubi on opereerinud üle 50 aasta ilma ühegi õnnetuseta. Igatahes vastus tuli selline:
"Regarding our safety record I guess what we do makes some difference but maybe it is just dumb luck!! Anyway, we use all the documentation and procedures from the British Gliding Association including their instructor training, progress book for students, certificate of airworthiness for gliders etc. absolutely everything as they have a big organization and have done it all so we don't have to develop everything ourselves. ( BGA is governing body in UK for 110 clubs and 12,000 pilots).
They are also very helpful and are delighted to come over and visit Ireland and provide their expertise to us, a small country. Obviously, it also helps that we are all English speaking!
However, we have one significant difference. We believe that once a pilot goes solo it is very difficult to get them back into dual training and they can learn bad habits or they may miss some of the more advanced items on the syllabus. For this reason we insist the student has all exercises and training items signed off BEFORE considering sending them solo. As a result many Irish students take up to two years and 80 - 100 flights before going solo!!
This is often argued against as it makes the sport too demanding and we lose members out of frustration but I think your description of our 'super duper safety record justifies it."
Go figure.
